I was watching National Geographic and they were doing a bit on what is known as the GHOST DRIVERS. These are the drivers who hauls military nukes and weapon, nuclear waste, and so forth. It was said that not even the dispatcher can track them. they know they are out there, but they don't know where. Can any one add some more details about these ghost drivers

While dispatch can't track them.
You can bet your last dollar, they're being tracked.
The only thing I can add to it. An incident several years back, where local yahoos in Arkansas decided they wanted to take a look inside a sealed trailer. I'm sure probable cause weighed heavily in this.
But they were heavily outgunned before the doors were pinned back.
Just another trucker tale...for those that are interested.Another Canadian driver, alds and Upinsmoke Thank this. -

We were not allowed to go past the back of the trailer until they were on 60 minutes and then they would lets us look into the cab. Of course we would hear all the road stories when they came in and the best one they told us when they were approached by a state cop to pull over and they made a call from their cab and he was notified to back off.
I've been out of the program for many years now but when I was there they only had 1 rollover from bad conditions and the load stayed put. It hung from the ceiling! We had our job to do as weapon techs and I really got uneasy when I was in the trailer. They are only 5 foot wide on the inside. I will say this nobody is ever going to hop in this truck and drive it away.
When they were real busy they would work 6 months out of the year and they showed us their pay stub and they made some coin. But I heard from so guys I used to work with that they just don't have that much work anymore. They are not required to stop at any scales but they do so they don't raise suspicion. BTW the proper name for the trucks are SST's (safe secure truck or trailer)and they have railcars which are SSR's (safe secure railcar). If you do decide to go to them for work you are the type they look at so good luck. There training besides the truck is just like the FBI and you have to be in top shape.Another Canadian driver, scott180, wis bang and 3 others Thank this. -
The "ghost fleet" are tsmt trucks.
Another Canadian driver and Upinsmoke Thank this. -
Besides the driver of the truck being armed, I can gurantee you, there is a van or two in the area of the load with armed personnel.
Any driver that has previous military training and under 40. I have the website for the recruiting of this. They only recruit 2 or 3 times a year and the training is military training. You will be running and doing all the PT. Unfortunately when I found out about it, I'm over the age requirement.

I have a family member that drives those. I am not aloud to go into any details, but it is interesting, Lets just say that they have more of an escort than one would believe, They are NOT alone out there.
You Got it Gashauler, and yes, the pay is GREAT, but home time sucks
