I haven't watched him in forever, just a quick skim of his video's, looks like lots of time at home, and going one way empty. Yea, companies are dropping like crazy, TFI grabbed Keystone before they went under, for the BRP contracts I heard. Some fun news also, the Yellow/YRC terminal in Calgary finally got cleaned out, and the lights shut off lol!

Last time i was delivering to a customer across from Yellow’s yard in Whitby about 2-3 months ago they still had a bunch of day cabs , yellow trailers and old Reimer trailers too . It was kind of sad seeing everything just sitting parked to be honest . Looked like they were just parked for the day ready to go back to work the next day . The building even had its lights on

Was chatting with a friend who drives for Tri-Line. They do not have driver facing cameras. (Contrans/TFI owned company).

FedEx doesn't have them. FedEx is a toxic work environment, though.

That's interesting, Is he an O/O? Cause TFI even told me all their company trucks will have driver facing by 2025.

Interesting, the FexEx Freight contractors I see, all have them. I would have thought FedEx company trucks would have had them forsure.

With everyone going to driver facing cameras it makes me want to get out of trucking more by the day . I get distracted driving can kill people and has but being watched 24/7 and getting in trouble for drinking a coffee or eating something is alittle excessive in my opinion

At Express, at least in my part of the world, they don't. From what I heard, they intended to install them but most of the drivers balked and they backed down. I don't know if that's true or not, but I do know the trucks don't have 'em. They actually use a lot of leased tractors and trailers.

Yeah, I think it's ######## too. No one else has a camera in their face all day while they work, so why truck drivers? I'm mature enough to not touch my phone while I'm driving. If an employer doesn't trust me, they can pound sand.

What I seen of these systems, in my short stint in the office. They have Eye tracking, so even looking out the side window to long is a "violation". I could never do it, and I told my outfit as much. They swore up and down they weren't getting them (June 2024) and now every truck they have, has them (November 2024).

The amount of things you can program these things to report and put violations on a drivers file for are amazing. If anything happens, they will de-construct your life, down to the music you were listening to, to blame the driver. Truly Dystopian in my opinion, will never accept it.
