I call bs on the $70k net. It won't happen unless he is driving 24/7 always loaded.
Vans still cost money to run, promaster isn't a $5k used van, and gas isn't cheap, so his costs maybe about 50 cents a mile. That means to make $70k net he has to make $140k and that means he has to be loaded all the time that van moves.
Getting sprinter van after otr for $1.00 a mile pay?

Maintenance and purchase of my first van ended up being 3c a mile (1.6 million km on a 7.3) I've bought vans since that are under $5000
Fuel? Currently 11c a mile Canadian.
Sitting kills. I'm getting out once or twice a week atm
Edit: don't listen to me. It just occured to me, I have no idea the expenses of a new van either I don't buy them -
For example: I drove 10 miles for $90.
I am moving a guy 12 miles for $1000. Yes, uShip is very demanding and sometimes you don’t find anything worthwhile but I made a trip from NC to WI and back and I ended up with almost $5k. I rented a box truck so I can add more. Now I wish I have some other websites to add more business... -
Antistres, lets be honest here, with prices like you are getting you don't need "Now I wish I have other websites to add more business" what you need is a armor car to take all that money to the bank. Sorry but I find it hard to believe that a person making the money you are making wants to add more business. unless the prices you are stating above are just flukes, one every 6 months. Lets see how much you really make when you average all miles and all expenses to your income. Please post. I have being doing expedite for 10 years, your numbers do not make sense to me. I'll say again if you are running for UShip, yes you are working at rock bottom prices.
Lite bug Thanks this. -
Maybe uship is how the drugs move nowadays?
Expeditor Thanks this. -
Runs with consistent rates like that and everybody would be doing it. And if for some miraculous reason that you are able to get those kinds of consistent rates I have a suggestion for you - SHHHHH.
Expeditor Thanks this. -
I don’t know guys...I just don’t see why anyone would keep wanting to drive a truck for somebody else. I think all OTR drivers should get their own at some point. Not having to pay rent or car payments should be an even bigger reason to want to invest the money instead.
