I will be able to get funding to attend a local CDL school here in Grand Rapids through the No Worker Left Behind.
My question is for anyone else that has gone through this process. I will be taking the CASAS Test this Friday. Just a little nervous about it, if it's anything like a GED test I feel that I'll do really bad in the math section if they have anything that deals with algebra and trigonometry.
Thanks for any advise.

I'm sure you can find a sample test on the internet. That will probably help you in knowing what you are in for.

we live in Ohio and they have the WIA program...our county was out of funding for CDL but hubby was allowed to go to a different county in Ohio as they still had funding left for CDL..maybe that's the case with the OP, just ask if they still have funding before you get started they know if they do or don't

I know that some of the funding that counties have is run out. So it depends on where you are at. I got a loan years ago and paid my own way through school. Also there are companies who will put you through their own school and have you sign a contract with them for about 2 years. Check into Schider or some like that for that kind of schooling.

Supposedly the state gets the money some time in September each year. When I went through the WIA program a few years ago I had to keep on them. It took a few months. I went through all the tests (very elementary) and then was told they had no money at the time. This was middle of the summer. I made a hobby out of calling them an harassing them, I happened to call the day they got their funding (middle of September) and was enrolled at a local Community Collage two days latter and started the course first of October.
So... long story short... Squeaky wheel gets the grease! My WIA case worker as much as admitted this to me after the fact. So my advice to anyone who is told they have no money is to make a hobby out of calling them.wildbill123 Thanks this.
