Hmm, most truckers are the model for physical fitness. Might wanna look into something else. Obviously joking, as long as you can reach the shifter, reach the pedals, have decent vision then you should be fine. Just drive the dang truck and don't hit anything. Congrats on the weight-loss.

Yup you can

Go see a certified DOT Dr and take the physical exam....You must have a medical certification before you can apply for a state CDL.

Any way this is what I had:
I am guessing he meant medical card.
If it is the medical card do you have high blood pressure and if so is it under control and for how long has it been under control?
How is your blood sugar level also as they are the 2 big ones why you may fail.
If you want to see about getting the card before going deeper into the CDL process look for a FMCSA certified Dr. to get checked out first. Also some CVS stores do this too. You just have to make sure the Dr. is FMCSA cirt. If you pass you can then use it to go deeper for the CDL.

To add to what DustyRoad just wrote, go here https://nationalregistry.fmcsa.dot.gov/NRPublicUI/home.seam and enter your location info, it will give you a list of Certified Medical Examiners in your area. With the new rules your doctor must be on that list in order for it to count. Pass the DOT Physical you are good to go. Most tractors have fully adjustable driving stations

No issues with sugar or BP. Had wellness physical 4 months ago and doc said no issues. I hear all this stuff about BMI and sleep apnea test. I hear a lot company's won't hire if overweight. Just don't want spend $3600 go school and not get hired.
Thanks all for responses. -
You are really not that big man, I have seen drivers bigger than you driving for many different companies. The company that hires you may have their on physical skill test that you will have to pass. It is usually things you will need to be able to do as a driver. For example they may ask you to squat and while squatting cross underneath a trailer from one side to the other without using your hands, they may ask you to climb a trailer up and down a few times, and maybe carry 50 pounds back and forth for 5 minutes or so, and push 100 pounds, all this while maintaining a good heart-rate. These are just examples of things I have had to pass in the past. Hope this gives you an idea. There are so many trucking companies out there, I am pretty sure someone will hire you but just be mindful you have to be physically able enough to complete your duties safely as a driver.

If you go with a large company that is CONSTANTLY screaming about Sleep Apnea (Crete comes to mind), and you have a fat neck...be prepared to spend money on study and equipment. It's more of a con and/or money game than it is an actual study. To them; fat neck means you have Sleep Apnea PERIOD.
Note: This is just from my observations of what has been posted MANY times on these forums...I have no personal experience with it myself.
And don't get me started on the BMI (Body Mass Index) that was set in the 1950's when men were 5'8" and 145 lbs. It doesn't apply to todays 'evolved' male humans...but they won't update the index to fit the scale of the new times.
