does anybody know any companys that would hire me? OTR is not an option, dedicated might be and maybe regional but local is ideal.

You could try oil field. There are companies who will train new CDL holders.

I worked for pro drivers for a bit so you could always apply with them too see what they have to offer. The contract I was on also hired directly and are located in New Braunfels. Night dump truck work, sun - thur 10hr shifts but some weeks work 7 days straight when they go to Houston during the regular off days. They are so starved for drivers they have NON cdl drivers drive the class b dump trucks some days.

Pro drivers? Is that the company name?

Pro drivers is a temp to hire company that place cdl drivers with companies. However they usually pay MORE than the company you will be working for. They were paying me $17/hr to drive that Class B dump truck when the going rate at the company was $14-$16.50/hr depending on experience. Most of the jobs however want 1 to 2 years of OTR but the small ones like the one I was on accepted anyone.

Any time the oilfied is going strong, there is plenty of work, from belly dumps building pads on up to sand oil and water, pipe, etc etc.
I don't know how you are looking, but many people now just apply on line, these types of jobs are best done by applying in person if you want a job.
