I can't believe how easy my driving test was when I started back in 1995. A lady came to our driving school at the local community college and we had to do a pre-trip, and literally....drive around the block with the inspector. About 2 minutes into it she said, "well, I see you know what you are doing"...and we headed back. I don't recall anything about backing. Now they have such an obsession with that passenger side parallel parking maneuver. What's with that?
georgia cdl driving test. they have gotten extremely strict and anal.

The only good CDL school in GA is the Dekalb Technical College. It's a 3 month program and they do tell the students what will disqualify them. Yes, rubbing the tires on the curb is a NO NO... Getting outside the truck to check alignment is absolutely NO. Heck, we couldn't even open the windows while doing the backing. I would suggest go back to school, take the refresher... See if he can take the refresh at the Dekalb Tech College. It's in Lithonia. They have the best instructors one can get! Good luck and all the best.

I think I likely have the easiest road test out there. First did Class B (extended van, 15+ pass with trailer) for job in Northern MN. Went in for test and after written came out with tester for road. I was boxed in. Instructor said."I will find driver of one of these" I told him I didn't have time as needed to get to work. He warns me if I touch either car I fail, He can NOT give any assistance.
So I get it out, roll down pass window "hop in" He says "you passed" We drove around block, came back.
Then yrs later I went for CDL. Went in for written test. Got there half hr before closing. "You will only have time for one test" So I take one, 2nd, 3rd, turn it in and got high marks all 3. We sit talking bull, when can do road test. He tells me. "you got a 86 on road test" And signed paper.
I took road test in courthouse. -
I like how Florida does it. The instructors at the school are cirtifide by the state to give the road test. so the same people that have been teaching you the past 3 weeks are the ones testing you. They go online and put in the results and you goto the DMV or a Tax collector and pick up your license. IF you fail then all you have to do is wait 24 hours to retake the test. THey had a few students that were 2 weeks past their 3 week class still taking test 2 weeks later.

I recently attended atlana technical college, most unorganized and unprofessional college
I would imagine how ever they did drill in my head only two get outs and hitting the curb is an auto. Failure
I took my test in jackson, ga i also was told only two gwt outs and hitting the curb auto. Failure. Im a recent
Graduate i know i hit the curb during training but test date i took my time and used my get outs wisely.
They give u breaks on your coasting out of gear, shifting and hard breaking. 300 for a retest is ridiculous. Testing is 50$ for a test and a free re test, then 50 more if u fell those two. 300$ wow!!! Just
We ofen are very nervous and anxious to get them take ur time watch them curbs use the other lane until u clear the curb and dont burn that first get out on ur set. On ur parallel make sure u straight line in the box deep enough. Good luck stick with it and pm me to keep me posted. -

He failed to do what he was required to do by the state and failed the test. His beef should be with the SCHOOL for the unreasonable charges they want.
And yes I took the GA test and passed it AFTER going to a crappy "school" in Albany,ga. -

I don't know about strict or anal...that denotes a standard policy. I am just out of school and am very angry. Each time I have tried to take my skills test it is always been 45 minutes before DDS closes, Gainesville, Ga. Both times, I felt rushed and certainly don't get that fresh morning experiences as the ones testing before me got. I am very upset with the amount of time it has taken me to pass the road test. I attended Daly's and had no idea the fast pace and expected performance compared to the teacher abilities to get the CDL. I am not a dense person and today, I feel I could have passed if it had not been at 4:05. My test was further delayed by the first truck breaking down, so more waiting. I don't know how to feel as I just can't see paying DDS anymore money. I am okay with the things happen for a reason bit, but I do feel shortchanged by my school of choice and DDS.
I was also messed up when I heard the other students telling us about all the chances they got. Let me tell you one thing, I just want to get this done and move on to the next rung of steps. I could go a whole lifetime to never see these people again. Good luck to everyone out there working with the type of "standards" just to pass...because if you think about it, you pass the written no problem, then I was told by my school, 80% pass. However, I don't see that number looking at the people sitting on the benches retaking the yard and road test.
