Any older drivers remeber George Transfer out of Parkland Maryland? They were a flatbed company with mostly owner operator company with a few company trucks. They were shut down in the late 90s for numerous DOT violations. My dad was leased to them for years. Was just curious if anyone on here remembered?

I had a couple operators that were former George guys. They always spoke how the bill for the trip included an advance check...

Check out Hanks Truck Pictures more than likely there are some picts of the company trucks on there. Just go to the site and put the name of the company in the search bar.

Didn't Malone buy them out?

Don't know if they bought them out, but they took a lot of their o/o on after the dot shut down.

Not many of the old George hands still around. I know of a few from the 70's when I first leased on at Belvernon Pa. A couple of the guys stayed until the end and is still trucking. As far as I know one of my friends still has his 69 corn binder burning up that interstate, 55 miles per hours. I can say we were a special group. We were like family. If you needed help you got it. We had good agents as well.
