Hey everyone,
I have had my CDL A since 2017. I was in the oilfield when I got it. Got laid off. Went OTR with CRETE for 2 years and left in 2021. Now I'm coming back to driving. I have looked at a few different companies. I live in central florida so driving jobs are here but it's tough. I already knew this because Crete has a terminal in Deland and i was on a dedicated account outta social circle GA going to brooksville, FL. The freight to get me back to GA for this dedicated account was sparse but they did get it for me.
Anyways I settled on Heartland Express based on my needs and what they "offer" So got cleared by safety and now I'm waiting on verification from Halliburton for my recent CDL usage with them this last year when I went back (may-oct) and got laid off again (My luck of course).
So this here are my questions:
1) Heartland told me it would take 7-10 days to get a response back from Halliburton for verification but that seems odd to me as I have never experienced that. Why? Does anyone have any insight to anything like that or why it would take so long?
2) I can get started with Knight tomorrow if I really wanted too but that seemed like a butt in the seat kinda situation and idk how I feel about that.
3) Any other companies that do a regional with weekly hometime? Or even home every two weeks.
Edit for Clarity: I did apply to Marten and they told me no because I don't have 6 months of experience in the last 18 months. They told me that they don't take Halliburton as experience even if I was driving a tractor trailer.
Any tips or suggestions would be great.
Appreciate it

Chinatown Thanks this. -
Response times depends on a few factors
Like
How bad does Heartland need driver
That’ll slow down their end
How busy is Halliburton’s safety dept and/or how much they care about expediting requests
Good luck -
Thanks for your input.‘Olhand Thanks this. -

So just in case I have a back up plan. I need to get back on the road yesterday as I am currently unemployed (not my choice unfortunately) -
Any luck with Windy Hill?
