    I have a few questions.

Anyone have info on what type of company this is like to work for .good, bad ?

They have two positions Available out of San Antonio. One is local and pays $17 and hour ,day cab , the other is semi local with sleeper . Only thing I didn't like hearing was how miles were paid out . .49 loaded which is good, but was informed their backhaul pay is only .20 . I asked. What that percentage of backhaul miles might be and was told maybe 5% semi local would only be away from home 2 nights a week, which is good .

Trying to decide if this company is a good one to work for and if I should be the hourly local or semi local

I had a buddy of mine who drove for Gardner. He complained about them quite a bit. I don't recall the specifics other than to say the pay wasn't so great and he wasn't treated well. CRST bought Gardner a few years ago, so that should tell you something.

If you don't already know, Gardner hauls paper rolls and recycled cardboard cubes.

Surprised no one mentioned @Chinatown yet because your best to avoid anything connected to CRST. They might also have driver cams knowing they put them on crst trucks

Because , if I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing , I'll never have an issue with the safety Dept .

I’d stay away from Gardner no matter what.

My son has been there out of the Chino yard for 3 years. You can’t miss his assigned truck. It’s the cleanest, show truck they have in the fleet. Anyways..... they have taken excellent care of him. His on hourly top scale(cheap if you ask me) but is very happy. He started there as a rookie driver. But now he has his experience and has smelled the roses and knows there is better out there. So he will be soon leaving, due to high medical insurance he pays. Which I been telling him for years. He finally woke up. I recommend them only for a newbie. They will hire just about anyone.
