I love my 99V. When you say "jumps down by 5", what do you mean?

Do you mean something like this:

27.185 dropping to 27.180, or 27.190?

 

Is the radio receiving?

 

Ok, this is strange. At first, I was thinking bad crystal in it, but if it has receive, that's not it.

Almost sounds like 2 issues now, instead of one. I'm thinking audio amp, or bad finals, but can't figure out why the freq counter is doing that.

Another question.....when he keys up, the freq counter goes wacky, but does it go right back to normal on the freq counter when he lets off the key?

 

ok, I'll go through some of my books and other info and see what I can find. I know I can find an easy answer.
