Hello all, i am new here and have never posted on this forum before. I need some advice on what to do with my DX44V. I have a frequency counter so i am able to know which frequency im running at on every channel/band. Unfortunately, the frequencies aren't correct. Its off by -00.012 on every channel. Where band E Channel 19 should be freq. 27.185, it is 27.173. I can turn on the +10KHz switch which raises it to 27.183, but is not 27.185 like it should be. Its like this on every channel. I am not new to using/operating a cb, however i have never opened up a cb nor have changed/modded any internals. Is this freq problem something i should take to a repair shop or could i possibly fix this myself? I also noticed the Echo/talkback does not work. I am located in NW Ga and there is no CB shop around. Closest ones are in Atlanta which i wouldn't mind taking my radio there but would rather do it myself if it's not too hard of a job. Thanks

That's funny, I have a DX 44V as a back up and it does NOT have a frequency counter. Pictures please ?

Thanks for the reply. It's not a built in freq. counter, its the one that plug into the back of the radio!

First it is a common problem with the 347, it is not really a true freq counter but a programmable display - it is hard to explain.

You need to bring it to a shop and have them check the radio to see if it is the radio or the counter. They actually have to check it against their own frequency counter.

If the radio is alright, then there is an adjustment that can be made to bring it into the correct reading unless it is defective and need repairs - probable.

If you don't care about the counter and it is bad, just take it off, it really doesn't mean much other than lighting up the cab.
