Going to change out my shocks on my 07 T600.

I currently have oem but going to either Gabriel or Monroe?

Which one do you prefer and is there a specific reason for it?

Have thought about Road King shocks but after all the negative reviews about customer service I will not touch them.

I have silver Road shocks on my steer axle and love them but they do not make cab or drive axle shocks anymore.

Toss a coin and let it decide. I went with the Gabriel slx last time around. They do the job and are reasonably priced around the same as Monroe.

Silver road was bought by road king. They do still make drive axle shocks. Or they did just a few months ago when i ordered mine.

As for road kings customer service, ya they suck. But if you want the best shock they have no competition so you pretty much just have to deal with it. The online negative reviews didn't phase me cause most of the people writing them have ridiculous expectations. My favorite was the guy complaining that the shocks only lasted 3 years of high mileage use. Its a freaking shock, three years is fantastic life for a shock. Monroe shocks are good for a cheap shock but don't expect them to last a full year. Gabriels are the same.

my recommendation is get the road kings and accept that its going to be 3 months before they show up to your door.

Last month replaced 4 shocks on trailer installed Monroe.
Rear axle one shock lost its fluid. One shock broke at the bottom eye. Both were replaced with warranty.
Bad luck or bad shocks? 50% fail ratio just a tad bit high.

I was about to type gabriels aren't any better, then i read this.

Unfortunately shocks are one of those items most truck owners neglect so there is a very small market available manufacturers of a quality product. Our choices are cheap China made or expensive road kings. I've heard sachs are slightly better than Monroe and gabriel but i have my doubts cause they are made out of the same cheap materials in cheap labor countries like Mexico India and China.

Not really. 700 for 2. Half that to have them rebuilt when the time comes. Compare that with about 100 each for Gabriel's or monroes and have to replace in less than a year.
The way i liked at it was if the road kings only last 3 years then its basically break even with the cost of normal shocks.
And once i got them on the truck... well I'll have them on every truck i buy from here on out.

    RTR Thanks this.
