Just for your information; Professional Drivers looking for a job. If you're searching for a Class A Drivers job on craigslist and come across a Company called Road Dog Drivers be aware that this company is a Temp-For-Hire Agency for drivers, meaning that you will be employed with them and they will lease you out to various companies. This company may or may not be a good fit for drivers looking for a permanent position with a good company. I called and talked to a recruiter and she didn't really know too much about the Company that she was recruiting for. She kept putting me on hold to find the answer to my questions. She finally transferred me to another recruiter.

I know how tough it is to try an find that perfect company to work for specially for Over-The-Road drivers, Just keep in mind most companies are looking for a warm body to put in their trucks. My advise to you is to do your Due-diligence. Write down questions that are most important to you. Make sure that the recruiter gives you the opportunity to ask your questions and address all your concerns, Most recruiters are trained to dominate the conversation and make the sale. Look at them as a used car salesman that is offering you a great deal on a 1975 Pinto and will throw in a toaster if you buy it now. keep in mind that you will never see or speak to him or her again. Don't make any commitments or premature decisions. Don't quit your current job until you have done all of your homework. In short "Don't Jump Out Of The Frying Pan And Into The Fire".

Later I will post a list of questions that I have put together for Professional Drivers to ask Recruiters.

Doing homework never hurt anyone. With resources such as forums like these available, glass door and rip off report so readily available to...everyone...I'm kind of surprised anyone would blindly sign onto a temp agency.

it's not an employment agency, it's a temp agency. the idea has been around for decades.

you can either sit home, collect no money while looking for a job. or you can work for a temp agency, doing various jobs that they have. and make SOME type of income.

sometimes, you even land a job.

companies all over the country need temp help. for whatever reason. it's better and faster to call an agency asking if they have any help for the day or week. then be short staffed.

I am too.I have applied to these one application jobbies that goes to many trucking companies along with a few temp agencies.Don't know why carriers hire them when they get a lot of drivers that go to the website and apply.Just imagine how much carriers pay them, pay trucking sites to post their ad but can't pay a decent trucking wage.

Employment agency and temp is the same thing isn't it?Not any different then temp agencies for non trucking.Alot of carriers hire temp agenicies for the same exact job as if you got hired by the company.Bet Werner Swift a lot of mega carriers use temp agency along with their website and ads plasterd in the paper.

There's a sucker born every minuet in this pond of fools, and even with a bad net- if it's wide enough, you're bound to pull in a few.

That all rhymed, and I wasn't trying. It has become apparent to me that I should've been a "rapper" (or is it "rappist?" sounds dirty that way, take another P out and it becomes even worse) instead of a trucker.

My very first teamsters job was a temp to hire position. I left after a couple of years because the pay was not up to par, I made more money on a 5 stop produce run out to the east coast and back, and some other issues, not work related, and I actually just hired back on with the same company because the pay is considerably higher now, not temp this time.

I get an email all the time from a staffing agency. When you fill out one application staffing agencies will call you along with the carriers.Got a few calls last week.Guess they can be a good source to find the trucking job you're looking for like local or tanks. But general otr freight, just apply to the companies yourself.

Wonder if these temp agencies is anything like the ones here where you pay them so much if you become perminate employee.I was about ready to go to jl staffing for a non trucking job and didn't care if it was temp parttime or whatever.I just wanted to make enough money to pay my bills. But I think Heyl will be hiring me.Everything is clean now recruiter is just waiting for my criminal background check and then safety will call me and set me up for drug test, road test and orientation.Maybe I wont have to do a full blown physical. The application wanted to know when my physical expires and had to fax the card and long form to her.
