Hey guys I am running a whistlepro 1200w inverter. was wanting to install an inline fuse and not sure how big of one to get. also, can a 1200w inverter run a mini fridge? its .8 amps and 110 volts. most I run at once right now is a 19in tv and a satellite receiver. thanks!

1200 watts divided by 12 volts equals 100 amps.
1200 watts divided by 120 volts equals 10 amps. -
Well, that was helpful snowwy. </sarcasm>
Sometimes I think that you post unhelpful nonsense simply to increase your post count.
OP, when you install a fuse for an inverter, you want one that will allow the inverter to run at max surge capacity, but will melt in the event of a short circuit in the supply wiring. The manual for your inverter states that it has a 2400W surge capacity. So accounting for an 80% efficiency, your inverter could theoretically draw 240 Amps from your batteries if you have a load connected that requires it. So you'd need at least a 240 Amp fuse in your power circuit. The manual for your inverter does not mention a fuse in their installation instructions, but it would be very wise for you to install one at the positive battery terminal connection.
As for the fridge, your inverter manual states that the best way to determine if an appliance will operate with the inverter is to actually plug it in and test it.
Hope this information was helpful to you. -

I have a 1500 watt inverter.
I have a 100amp fuse inline, it never trips. Get a fuse that you can reset.
I run a TV, Microwave, Toaster, Sandwich Toaster, but never at the same time. -
I have a 3k watt Pure Sine Wave (Tiger Claw), inverter (surge 6k watts), and I use 2 red and 2 black wires to connect from battery bank to inverter... I have a 300 amp inline fuse on each red wire (0 guage on both red and black)... The reason for the pure sine wave inverter is to have steady power to my Walmart fridge and my Laser printer... a modified sine wave will wear out the compressor in your fridge pretty quick (6 months or so)... you will notice the light surging when you open the door... that would be what is also happening to your compressor... the Tiger Claw cost me $300 on ebay... I got 2.5 years out of my Wally World fridge that I paid $144 plus tax... all said and done.... a better choice for me..
