Apparently they run a 3" input shaft on the transmissions and the rest of the powertrain is stock. I'd imagine they're probably using 46k rears though.

U-joint’s are cheap! Guess if you want a built in weak link to keep from breaking the expensive stuff they would be my choice.
The thing that boggles the mind is how this proves that truck parts can take a lot of abuse by design because the parts are really built overkill by most standards but STILL an average everyday driver can flatten an anvil with a rubber hammer and destroy a truck in no time flat in everyday use.
