Water in the fuel. Try buying at a different place

Bad fuel! I just spent four hours on one that made it 3 miles from the fuel stop. That's after a service call and a tow truck. When the tanks were drained it had mud? in the bottom of the tanks. If it is running that far you probably have it about worked out. Drain trash out of bottom of tanks after it has been parked and run a good fuel additive. Also maybe read up on post's about algae.

I just emptied mine. Davco 382 / D13 engine. Your supposed to drain that at least every other day ya know.
Last fuel stop was Petro OKC, 222 gallons.
I mean it is doing its job if its trapping the water.
Doesn't mean the filter is shot. Back in the day I was assigned a truck and the Davco kept clogging, and when dude pulled the old one off, it looked like the bottom 2 inches of the filter were turning into some form of cheese.

So I'm going to ###/U/ME it was a mom and pop outfit. I tend to stick with the big guys for two reasons. A) Better quality of fuel, I'm more concerned about keeping the EGR system humming than water or mud, and B) fuel discount. $0.20 to $0.50 off a gallon at TA, Petro, Love's, & a bunch of super fuel places.

But I'm fueling only at Love's. They should have good quality fuel.

One bad load is a gift that keeps on giving! If you buy fuel anywhere that just got a fuel drop everything in the bottom of their tank just got mixed up and you bought it. Thrash can also be passed down the line to them and you bought it.
In rural areas everyone does not have the options Dave mentioned but bad fuel finds its way to the big road as well. Suggest drain trash from bottom of seperator each morning intel clear
When you start pumping fuel look at it after a minute or two. Everything out of the silver nozzle is not gold.
