I broken the retention chain of the fuel cap on one of my two fuel tanks on my 07 KW T600 . 1) How can I get the rest of the chain out? 2) Is it possible that the chain end that's at the bottom of the tank causing decreased flow?

    thanks

It might make its way to pickup tube but I doubt it will restrict much. I would go buy a telescoping magnetic stick and try to get it out. Might have to run fuel down some to slush it over so you can see it with a flashlight and try to snag it. Good luck

No it will be steel so you can grab it. I just checked my Kenworth and Peterbilt and the chain stuck to the magnet so you're should be the same

image.jpeg This is what I've used to get pieces of chain out of my tanks. You can buy them at any auto parts store

I'd leave it. You go fishing around in there you'll probably find two or three broken chains in there.

Do you have anti siphon plugs in the tanks?

If you can't get it with an extendable magnet, get a person with small arms to reach in with the magnet to cover more ground.

You can try one of those claw tools, they are almost 3' long.
