    Hey fellas I got another question for ya, it’s an 85 Pete 359 with a 3406b question is how do you hook up a fuel pressure gauge I don’t have 1 in the truck idk if the person before me took it out or what, but how do you run the lines?

    Oxbow Thanks this.

    I would buy a teltec electric unit. Install the pressure transducer wherever possible. No lines to run fuel to the dash = no fuel leak in the cab.

    I agree with you as far as efficiency electric=no leaks but this is a classic and I’d like to stick with the classic look

    @wore out

    You attach the line to a port on the primer pump housing. I cannot remember if there was fittings in a manifold to get through the firewall..... don't think so.

    We used to install a snubber (kind of a pourous looking brass thing) before the line on the primer pump to take the pulsation out so the needle in the gauge wouldn't bounce wildly.

    @wore out will be along at some point to better define what is needed.

    Finding the original Pete fuel pressure gauge with fitting for the fuel line may be difficult, but Im sure some salvage yard may have one. I can't remember for sure now, but it may have been a Cat gauge that was in your truck from the factory.

    Hey thanks for the reply, ok that makes sense so I put a t fitting on the primer housing and just run a line to the gauge, also that orfice piece I just googled it and dans shop has it so I could connect that to the gauge and run the line into that? And does it matter which line on the primer housing I run the t fitting to?

    Also I looked at the manifold scamatic and your right no line running into it so it goes straight to the gauge

    I'll get a picture of the connection on the primer pump as soon as I can.

    This is the electric sender I use now, but you can tap into the primer pump housing here for yours as well. A tee in the line would work too. PXL_20211119_160110456.jpg

    Didn’t know it was gonna be picture day so excuse the mess.

    It’s a #5 o-ring boss to 1/8 female pipe adapter. The snubber I use from 4-states is 1/8 pipe male on the inlet and 1/8 female on outlet. 1/8 inch male pipe to #6 jic comping out of the snubber. #6 swivel on each end of hose to the manifold at firewall. Then same to gauge with a 1/8 to #6 male adapter on the gauge. My 379 came factory with a fuel pressure gauge that just had red and green in the range. It needed to be maxed out to read around 40psi. It was gonna take Peterbilt in Springfield something like a month to get one for mine. So I went with a Stewart Warner that the local bumper to bumper parts store had in stock. I’m Isspro and Stewart Warner both offer a gauge that reads up to 100 psi with a chrome or black bezel depending on what you need to match. The black face and white numbers make it look very factory. Seems isspro makes the factory guages.

    359 will be set up the same as far as fittings and line to the manifold as well. If the manifold doesn’t have an empty hole then get a male to male #6 from Pete. Pick a spot drill it then put your male to male in. Makes it nice and clean. Nothing is trashier than a bunch of holes in a firewall with random #### ran through it.
