Alot is gonna depend on what your pulling.

Dry van scaling out about 78,000

What year? The newer motors suck when it comes to fuel mileage. Stand up sleeper or anything aero on top? All that will make some difference.
-
Its a 2006 and not sure the size of the sleeper i think 72" with an areo sheild on top.

Some of the guys who have them should be around shortly. From what I've heard on the bad side 4-4.5mpg good side 5-5.5mpg. Don't hold me to these numbers its just what I've heard.

Why would you not purchase an aerodynamic truck? W900 is nothing but a big speed brake.

In a 2007 W900L with a C-15 at 475hp, 18sp trans, 3.55 rears, leashed at 65mph, I was consistently making 6 to 6.2mpg. That was running midwest (no mountains) with a reefer. Pacific NW dropped it to about 5.6 to 5.8mpg

The mpg's posted are pretty close to what you would get. One thing to watch though is the air temp. My C-15 hates air temps below 25 degrees and the mpg proves it...it will drop .5 to .8.
As far as buying a aero truck...in my opinion I haven't seen one that is attractive enough for me to look at day after day. When I buy a truck I have to love it, cause I'm the one that spends all the time with it. Also aero trucks don't seem to hold their resale as well as 379's, W900's, and even Classic's. If you spec the truck and drive it right you can get close to the same mpg out of a "big speed brake" as you can an aero truck.jason6541 and Bucktrucker Thank this. -
I will stick with my aero truck. I am out here to hopefully turn a little profit. I actually miss my first truck, a 1997 Volvo that consistently got 8 mpg pulling a drop deck van. And fuel was was still hovering just over a dollar. I would much rather put that money in my pocket, and I did.
Those Petes and KWs are nice trucks, especially when someone else is paying the fuel bill.
If fuel was still around a buck a gallon and all was well out here, I wouldn't be typing this. And I would probably be driving that Pete.
