What do you think about this stuff? Like Diesel Kleen, Lucas and the others. I've used it (Diesel Kleen) and have always seen marked improvement in miles per gallon, but is this harmful in the long run or is it ok?

this has been kicked around a lot on this forum. lot of different opinions. I use the power service, white bottle in winter to keep from gelling, supposed to help fuel sys too. don't know if it does. I have used lucas fuel treatment this way. fill up my davco with the treatment then pour the rest in tanks, always had a noticeable improvement in starting & m.p.g. but I would not put the lucas in the davco or any fuel filter in cold weather, cause it's thickness.

If you have a DPF, don't use any fuel treatments whatsoever. That's my opinion. If you have an older truck with far less emissions BS, go crazy with whatever works for you.

Except for the winter, it is kinda like washing your car and it seems to run better and faster. It is all in the mind. The HS I went to used to service some of the patrol cars (before insurance got involved) and the cars would come in with the air cleaner lid upside down. They thought it would get more air and run better. The instructor told them he was going to randomly switch them and not to open the hood for 1 week and see if it made a difference in performance. Well he flipped them all back the way they were supposed to be and a week later, not one complaint... Don't get me wrong, some injectors do need cleaning but that is fewer than you expect.

Watched a mechanic fill a Davco fuel filter to the top with ATF and rev it up until it was all gone.
