I'm looking at going here. I've only found one thread on them and it's old. Just wondering if there are any drivers on here that can give me some insight on them.

Never worked for them because they won't hire here, but...
They have a pretty good rep, good equipment, and been around for years...Last I spoke with them a few years ago they wanted drivers to live somewhat close to New Oxford...
Don't know if it matters to you but the trucks have been turned way down from what they ran years ago....Most of them I pass seem to be in the 65-68mph range......Some guys that doesn't matter just putting it out there.
When I was pulling a 'fridge I'd see them down south a lot (Florida), out west, here in upstate NY, and Texas not sure about current freight lanes..
Give them a call they were straight shooters when we talked.
good luck.Adamcurry6 Thanks this. -
Thanks. I've already had an interview with them. I'm just waiting for my back ground checks to come back. The safety guy said the trucks are governed at 70. Im really concerned about the pay. Mainly because my dad drove for them for 8 months 12 years ago and he said he couldn't make any money. He said that was the only reason he left.
Tall Mike Thanks this. -
The other is they are or were somewhat out of the way to get to and that is not a half bad thing. As proof of my knowledge there is a small brick yard you have to work around to get to where they were in my time.
To apply there you have to climb a flight of stairs I referred to as a cardiac exercise test validator so that if you reached the top to make your application without fainting to hypovolmeric shock you are good. =) he he he.
Anyhow... they have been in business a long time. I don't think I would be able to hire on to them despite my own late years impeccable record hauling million dollar loads over a year with and without wife. They are PICKY. PICKY. PICKY. It's almost you need a yankee accent and some kind of family connection or something.
That is all I have for Frock Brothers. Im not picking on them too much. They say class attracts class but they looked me over way back then and thought I was runt puppy not worthy of hiring. They could have saved themselves the trouble by telling me off the first time lol. -
Well like I said my dad worked there and they are kind of a family friend. The owner and the safety guy were close friends with my great grandfather, that's what got my dad in there. So I guess that counts for something. I'm just waiting for john frock to get back from Florida for my 2nd interview and for them to finish up the background checks.
I REALLY want to know if I can make money there. I am a hard worker and I know to make money in this business you have got to want it and be willing to do what it takes to get it. -
Let me ask you this. How is your debt? You up to your eyeballs being chased by collectors for that credit card spree? Or hassled by a wife and passel of kids to feed and a house and 3 cars plus truck and boat to pay for?
I am not interested in your specific information, what I am trying to get at is can you live on 100 dollars for 8 days until next payroll? If so then you are ready for the feast and famine of trucking. When it pours money with miles etc that you save and set aside against the time Frock cannot find freight (I think they were reefer so it should not apply...) you can tighten your belt a little bit and have a bowl a chili every couple of days to hang in there with them. -
Haha. No I'm not up to my eyeballs in debt. No kids and the wife and I don't ever plan on having any. I average $800-1200 a week here at super service. And yes I do know how to save money. I don't eat at truckstops and restaurants. I pack groceries for two weeks and that's what I eat. The reason I'm thinking of jumping ship is to work somewhere closer to home and to be home every week instead of staying out 12 days. I know there is a lot a bad stuff about super service but they have been good to me. I started fresh out of cdl school (I was a yard jockey for 2 years prior to getting my cdl) started at .32 pm I proved myself and they bumped me up to .40 pm.
I just want to see if the grass is greener....
I guess if it sucks I could always come back to super service. -
You will like Frock Bros, Ive never forgot them all these years. I was kind of worried that they finally got buried in the freight failures after 9-11. But did not see hide or hair of them anymore since.
