I don't see there can be a load movement if there was no rate confirmation and load acceptance signed. So how can there be a freight claim if no load was moved?
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
Is there a stipulation on the confirmation saying this is agreed to upon pickup of the shipment. Or something similar.
If you are going to be buying some damaged freight tell them you will only buy it when you can pick up YOUR purchase. Has worked for me in the past. If your insurance agent is worth their salt they won't just blindly cut a check to whoever is making the claim without their own investigation.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
I guess I am impatient and don't want to guess, what are you talking about, tell us details.
p608, Mattflat362 and x1Heavy Thank this. -
And if the claim isn't legit there are definitely other flaws that are way better than this. Most ######## claims have holes you could drive a bus through.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
if you pick up the load, it means you automatically accept the rate confirmation terms, even if you did not sign it

Second the shipper contacted me about moving this shipment I never had an agreement with a broker that the shipper is using to file a claim.
Third the shipper want 100% total loss of the value of the freight that is really not damaged at all. Its aluminumMattflat362 and x1Heavy Thank this. -
Take lots of pictures, document EVERYTHING with names of people on the shipping and receiving end as well as the time you arrived at the receiver and the name of the person who refused to unload the trailer. Then contact your insurance claims department. Sounds like a case of insurance fraud. Let your insurance carrier tell you what to do next. Don't do anything without their directions otherwise you could be really screwed.
rolls canardly, rank and x1Heavy Thank this. -
Was it ingots or was it powder?
A soon as they said they would not unload the product, I would have been on the phone with the broker and telling the broker they are refusing delivery, no details of a storm or any other info, they refuse the product - period.Grubby, rolls canardly, misterG and 2 others Thank this. -
