Any drivers know where I can buy frame ramps? They are ramps that go on the frame to help get under trailers that are dropped low. Spotter trucks have them. I see a few road tractors with them.

I have been to Palmer Kenworth, Stoops Freightliner, and Great Dane Trailer. No luck at any of the three.

I looked on the inte-net and can not find them, but I do not really know what they are called. I get a lot of hits for loading ramps when I google.

I am probably going to try Illiana Truck Parts. They are a junk yard.

I'd check the salvage yards, there's got to be a wreaked truck somewhere that has them.

Try searching for "RGN ramps" as that's the intended purpose.

If you have the know-how and access to a welder, they're very easy to fabricate. I've made 15 or 20 sets for our trucks that pull RGNs.

It's surprising you're not having luck at dealers, any new trucks we've bought have been spec'd with them from the factory.

Murray trailers out in CA sells a really nice set. But JDP is right they are really for running a mechanical RGN.

We had a few trucks purchased with them, and the prior owners didn't do RGN work. They would be very useful for drop and hook, you wouldn't often have to crank up a low one.

These were welded on the tail of the tractor frame to lift the trailer up onto the 5th wheel, and you could hook up a low one pretty easily with them. I wouldn't install them unless it was on my own truck, though.

It is my truck. I have 24.5 tires and most other trucks have 22.5 tires and when I get a dropped trailer alot of times they are dropped low.
    Thanks for all your replys.

If that's all you want get some steel plate and cut four wedges the length of your frame and about three inches high so you can drop down your frame about an inch to be able to bolt them on then get some strap a little wider than your frame and weld it on top and then use some heat and curl it down over the end of you frame and you should be good. I would use 3/4 inch for the wedges and 1/2 inch strap for the top.
