Oilfieldmike, so when they say wait time its not like your waiting 3 to 4 hours each day everyday, right? Maybe 3 to 4 hours once a week?

When the well is up and they are calling for sand then you’ll run as long as they need sand.
Wait time is only when you get loaded and on the way to the well they have to stop fracking for some reason and they can’t unload you
If you get empty and they say they won’t need sand you just have to wait till they call. You won’t be making any money but the time waiting for the call can be a few hours to a day or two. This is the time to sleep
There will be times when the all Frac crews are not calling for sand There will be times when all crews are humming and you’ll get load after load.
All in all if available anytime they start calling for sand you’ll make out very good. Always be ready to go anytime. If you want time off take a few days off in a row. That’s the best way to make money in the oilfieldspeedyk Thanks this. -

Problem with slip seating and paid by the load is what happens when you start shift get a load, deliver the load and the wells goes down? Now you sit until your shift is over getting nothing.
In other words never take a job that is slip seating, 12 hour shift, and is only paid by the load. Only take that job if it’s paid by the hour
Staying in the truck ready to go at any time I’d say is the best way to make money in the oilfield.speedyk Thanks this. -
While most of the above comments are true, things have changed in our area and who you are hauling for. You will run a shift, morning or night. You can run 14 hours if everything is good. When it’s time for the next shift, you’ll be sent home. Only good part of slip seating is your truck will keep running. A lot of times, the roster fills up before you check in for work by slip seaters. Always check in early to have a better chance of running.

Would 30% per load get me there for sure? He said 40 an hour after the 2nd hour for loading and 40 an hour for unloading after the 4th hour.
