I've never had the occasion to visit this truck stop since maybe back in the mid 80's. I understand it is a pay-to-park truck stop, so I'm assuming there is usually parking available, say after about 20:00? (Assuming Donner is wide open) Is there typically parking available well after dark during the week?
I don't have an issue with pay-to-park. And at least I can shower free on my PFJ card. I have an 07:00 Sysco appointment if Sparks Walmart will release me as a hostage in a reasonable time-frame

I'm not sure on parking spots, but they serve beer in the restaurant and that counts toward the purchases for free parking.
KillingTime, alghazi and bzinger Thank this. -
A few truck stops want $20.00 spent inside or a 50 gal purchase of fuel
49ers now a pilot wants $50.00 -

Hate to say it but
I parked there once when it was a TA during the summer. you know that smell that's in some truck stops oozing from the black top?.. it reeked. worst ever
today it's a source of fix it or a scale and I'm gone.Rusty Trawler and tucker Thank this. -
in fairness, things may have changed there some though I refuse to pay $50.00 inside. doesn't set right with me.
I haven't been in there for awhile for any purpose.of course pilots now have reserved parking , i suggest to call themalds Thanks this. -
Used to go out the exit, cross over 80 , Camino real I believe, go down a mile or so, park on the street, enter Mexican restaurant, eat chips/salsa, drink beer, then eat cheese enchiladas. That was "back in the day" as they say. Did you know there were 3 "forty niner" truck stops originally ? Sacramento, Sparks and Winnemucca. Winnemucca been closed for yrs, might be a Pilot now. Sparks changed to "Sierra Sids" yrs ago, but Sacramento stayed "the 49er". All were 76 truck stops. OK, so this was back in the 80's. ! Fond memories.
