Hey all,
Long time lurker, first time poster.
Worked for several Amazon DSPs driving armada & step-vans; eventually got tired of dealing with Amazon’s performance metrics & units-per-labor-hour requirements. (125 packages delivered per hour, at the worst stations)
Thought I would finally take the plunge and get a cdl-a, as my life was going nowhere fast. Looked at different companies, eventually settled on millis; posting this from the hotel/motel they’ve got me in.
Training starts tomorrow, first class in their new Texas facility ( or so they tell me ). Looking forward to posting and interacting with y’all going forward; this forum has been a blessing when researching companies.

They have a terminal near one of my jobsites. Lot of trucks and freight it looks like to me .
Keep us posted.
If you put in the effort to learn and remember all the hours of service rules and all the other regulations and pay attention in class, and on the road. You will do fine .
it’s been a generation ago but I was in your shoes.
Had a dead end slightly above minimum wage job , slowly starving to death. Living in a trailer park, driving a $400 car , first the phone got turned off, then the water got turned off , I managed to keep paying the electric bill and the folks that lived in the next trailer over let me hook up a water hose to their trailer for a few weeks until I got finished with my CDL class and got a trucking job.ThreeQuartersSerious, NavigatorWife and Chinatown Thank this. -

Good luck on your new job, hope you love it. Pay attention to your map, gps, and a laptop with Google maps to zoom in and look over areas. Write company directions and routes you are expected to be on down, just in case qualcomm goes kerplunk, etc. Plan your day or run.
