Ford LTL 9000

    So my boss picked up 2 ltl 9000's, 1 is a 97 and the other is a 96. both have 425 cats backed by 15 speeds, double framed, wetlines, and both in really nice shape with low miles(under 200,000) on either one. the interiors are both different though, in my 96 i have carpet all the way around, a bigger dash(across the cab)and high-back seats. this one is a little rough. the 97 seems to have more of a work package with a bare cab, all vinyl floor and low back vinyl seats, but this interior is pretty mint.
    Does anyone know of any places where i might be able to get a replacement dash for my truck aside from junkyards and auctions. i cant find anywhere online that specializes in these trucks. it just seem's like these trucks dont get the respect they deserve because they are really heavy duty trucks and tough as nails. Any help will be most appreciated.

    Those trucks are real work horses, but parts are very hard to find just keep googling. I think the heavy duty ford was bought out buy freightliner around 1998.

    The heavy duty Ford line was bought out by Daimler, which also has Freightliner and Western Star. These heavy duty Fords were renamed Sterling, and many of the dealers that sold Ford picked up Sterling instead of and continued selling the trucks. You could try dealers that sold Sterling, there might be some parts available, but a dash may be hard to come by, it would depend on how much they were changed in the brand switch.

    Sterling is now out of production, and since then, some of those dealers are selling Ford again. There was very little difference externally from the last 9000 Fords to the first Sterlings

    Im a sucker when it comes to underdogs and i would like nothing more than for people to see my rig cranking down the interstate and say "holy crap, thats a sweet LTL!" I think they have a lot of potential if they would only have more aftermarket parts out there.

    We used to run all Fords until we bought a KW in 1980. They had a lot of stupid design issues. They had 2 firewalls and the brake valve was mounted in between them. So if the brake failed you got the torch out to get to it. Most of them died a rusty death starting at the doors but being in Ohio that's the story with most steel vehicles.

    the ltl9000 is one of my fav. truck! parts try western va. truck parts (276)963-6833 ask for dave they could get parts at one time

    Hey bro my family has had Fords since the 60's and quite a few LTLs. I just bought my very 1st one 85' with a 3406b 13spd spotless one owner daycab. pics to follow. BTW we still have a #### ton of parts. so hit me up anytime man
