I am going to start my oreintation next week and then go out with a trainer, without going home. I'm not sure if my trainer will have a cooler or even let me use it, but I hope I get to stop somewhere and pick up food for about 2 weeks. My question is what type of food do you guys suggest, besides PB&bread and 2 for 2 hotdogs the doesn't require a cooler and won't break the bank? Thanks

Well for me I like to keep snacks around like tasty cakes etc.Its hard if your in a truck with no fridge or cooler but if the trainer does have a cooler or a fridge,I would get a pound of cold cuts and bread.Personally most of the time I stop at a truck stop and try to get a nice dinner but for lunch I make a sandwich. For breakfast I eat some kind of breakfast bar etc.

See if he does have a fridge first. If so, they're not really too big, like a bar fridge. Plan on you NOT being able to use it, so stock up on can goods and crackers etc. He may not want to stop anywhere once you climb on board, so at least have some wheat thins and a jar of P. butter in your suitcase.

cherboyardee can help.maybe some microwave food or soup etc that u can heat at truckstops or customer waiting rooms.get these things at walmart or a grocery store because you'll spend at least twice as much at a truckstop.

I eat a lot of campbells soups and dinty moore beef stew. Cold right out of the can. With a side of tortillas... No cooler needed, no dirty dishes, and Campbells has a bunch of options...

There are alot of ready meals you can mic at the truckstops, they dontvreq refrig. Just water and mic. You can prepare them before, after, during your shift. There are little roadpro products you can take with u that wont take up much room and makes life easier.
