I know Fontana is chock full of Trucking companies, which company pays well, treats you well and is a newcomers dream that's located here as oppossed to say a crst or a cr england sort of deal? I'm looking for somewhere that will train me for my CDL and then go on the long haul for an assigned amont of time to pay that off. Thanks in advance!

Thanks @Chinatown, they're not accepting fontana recruits atm, just got off the phone, they said they're revamping the program here in the area

Check out Robertson's out of Corona who will train you and test you to get CDL. Then you can shop co's to work for. Not sure how Robertson's would react if you trained and then quit. Robertsons is bottom dumps hauling aggregates to their plants and Redi mix trucks too.

You may have to train out of your area, but the end result is the same.
Transportation, meals, lodging provided wherever you train.
    Ashley trains in Missoula, Montana
Prime trains in Salt Lake City, Utah

It's not (just) how much you make -- but how much you KEEP -- that counts.

Thus -- get outta tax-heavy California, asap.

Nevada is a far more tax-friendly state. :Transportation cost

The job market for incoming CDL holders/new drivers is VER-RY TIGHT right now (or, as I write this).

Thus -- for the time being -- you may well have to take whatever you can get.

The following "starter" carriers have terminals right there in Fontana, CA:
    • Swift Transportation
    • Werner Enterprises
Also: Schneider has a terminal nearby -- over in San Bernadino.

I do know that right now Werner is actively hiring in Calf. If they are also hiring students -- is however...quite possibly another answer.

Anyway -- the above carriers will normally help new drivers get a CDL -- & then get on the road.

All the above offer both dry van & refrigerated freight opportunities.

Suggestion -- apply to them all -- & see where (or if) you get any positive responses.
