You can't get twist locks on the revolution because of the design of the floor. Sucks, I know, but it's still a sweet trailer.
Working Class Patriot Thanks this. -
Twist locks are not an option on the Revolution. 20s, I just load flat on the deck, with pads under the corners. 40s I put the rear on a 4X4 and the front on a 2X4. Chain the corners and maybe some straps.
SHC and Working Class Patriot Thank this. -

That is the brochure I was looking at, they've changed the weights in the past few days.
Even then it's still off a bit IMO. Brochure shows 10,994 lbs for the tri step and mine specs out at 12,170. Differences are 5 extra feet, rope tie downs (60 lbs as per sheet), dump valve (5 lbs), and meritor air disc brakes. The spec sheet still shows tapered spindles (parrallel are $420 extra and unknown weight), and standard beam. The rest of the trailer is box stock.
Also according to their specs the third axle adds about 1800 lbs.
So to recap:
Revolution 60 tridem 53' 11,080 (10,604) 476 lbs difference
Revolution 52 tandem 53' 9,200 (8,348 ) 852 lbs difference
Revolution hybrid tridem 53' 12,170 (10,994) 1,176 lbs difference
Differences:
- 11r22.5 instead of ??????? (I'm guessing wide singles?) for the flats
- meritor air disc
- Dump valve (5 lbs)
- Rope hooks (60 lbs)
You would think the 52 tandem would be closer to stock weight because the extra 5 feet of frame weighs less. What I'm thinking now is the revolution 52 tandem comes with wide singles stock, and the revolution 60 tridem comes with low profile 22.5's. That explains why the revolution 60 53' is closer to brochure spec. However why is the hybrid tridem even further from brochure weight? It should be the closest if anything, because I'm sure 255/70r22.5's are stock and that's what I specced.Last edited: Nov 14, 2012

That step with twist locks is something new. That was not an option, when I ordered over 2 years ago.

Incorrect. Fontaine don't do "custom" orders anymore but depend on how many a customer order, they're willing to make exceptions. There is a 53' Hybrid step with container locks that was made for last year (IATA ??) show. Its' frame was painted red and had pretty much all the options on it. The dealer that was selling it was in KY.Last edited: Nov 16, 2012

There was not a revolution step available when i looked. At least not with the type of floor they have. They are a 1 piece design and can't be added from what the Fontaine sales rep told me last month when I inquired about ordering one. Apparently they are now available???
this has made me much more interested in a hybrid 53' step now for sure -
It was originally listed on the truckpaper website at upper 37 - 38k ($$) range then they took the price out and had to call in. I've spoken with Nicki Culp at Fontaine in Haileyville, AL and she said that they (Fontaine) don't make that. I told her the website with the listing and the dealer that had it. "Oh, for customer that orders 25 or more, we make special options that aren't normally available." Yada yada yada....
It was a custom order for a show, then afterward the dealer was selling it off but the original price they'd listed was taken out and was asking for more $$. That was just before the major price increases (price of metal / alum sky rocketed up) and when combo 53' step ranged around 34 - 35k new w/FET.
