Was looking on the net at different trucking software and saw "Fog lines software". It looks interesting. Has anyone heard of it or have any experience with using it? Good /Bad? Pros/Cons?

I used it , i have no complaints. Easy to use , it was design by a truck driver.

I have used it for years. I tried others, but this one is easier to use. One thing that I like is that they are constantly "tweaking" the program. When I first started using it, they only had one version. They now have several including one for Conway drivers and another for Landstar BCO's. I just received an email from them that they are in the process of expanding the program to make it easier for those who do LTL's to track their loads. I believe that you can still download it to try the program before buying. In any case, they have a tutorial that explains how the program functions. For those already using the program, they are asking for input or suggestions on how to improve the program. I tried a couple of other trucking specific programs, but neither seem to do much to improve their program. I like the simplicity of the program. You should be able to install and begin using the program immediately without much of a learning curve. Their web address is www.foglinesoftware.com. They call their software Trucknpro.kw9's rock Thanks this. -
Thanks for the replies. Sounds like it is well thought out and user friendly design.

I have several friends who also use Trucknpro (Foglinesoftware). One runs his authority and another leases to a carrier. The owner operator who leases to a carrier said that he spends about 45 minutes each week putting his loads into the program. As quickly as he inputs his data, he can see how much he made on the load. It breaks it down by the mile and net profit. You can print off a number of reports such as for truck or trailer maintenance, etc., The program can also be customized, to some extent. I separate some of my maintenance expenses such as pm's, tires, etc., You don't have to customize it as much as I do, but it is good to have that option available. You can scan in receipts and paperwork if you want to go paperless. Another feature that I like allows you to key in broker and shipper information and make notes on each, if you desire. I have several hundred contacts that I have built up over the years. You can also invoice from the program and print out a P & L for any time period so that you know where you are at any given time. It can help to have that available should you need money for any reason.

Just downloaded the truckin pro software tonight. So far it looks really good and seems easy enough to use. I have a day off tomorrow so am going to put in a bit of time on the program and add all my previous records and bring it up to date to start using on a daily basis..
rickybobby Thanks this. -
Let us know how you like the program or if you have any questions about it.

Truckin pro ROCKS! I put all my records from the last ten months into the program and it is awesome the things it does with that info. It's very easy to use and it's a simple format that makes inputting the data quick and easy. I could see the reports for expenses, fuel, maintenance etc all in detail. Scanning the documents and receipts in is easy and they go straight into the file with the info about the invoice.
Now that I am up to date with my previous records I think it will take me a very short amount of time each load to put in the data and have everything up to date quickly. I emailed fog lines with an inquiry about the program and received a prompt and helpfull response from the company.I would highly reccomend this program , it really does make life easy!!Alberta trucker and rickybobby Thank this. -
I am glad to hear that you like the program. It is very simple to use, which is one thing that I like about it. Some people input the load information after each load and others do it once a week. As you noted, it doesn't take long to put everything into the program. Foglines are usually good about getting back with customers. Are you putting in your IFTA miles and gallons?

Trucknpro just released a new version called Trucknpro Elite. It does more than previous versions and makes it much easier to put in your LTL loads, if you do LTL. It has the features of previous versions, but has some enhancements. It is designed for the single truck operator, which is new for Foglinesoftware. Previous versions would allow drivers to add as many trucks as they want. This version also has a driver qualifications section. You can put all your driver information into the program so that it is at your fingertips, if needed. You can scan the driver CDL, Medical Card and Social Security Card. You can note the expiration dates and hire dates of the drivers. The last couple of versions of Trucknpro will allow you to scan in fuel and other receipts if you want to go paperless. I like this feature because of the type of receipts that Pilot and some others are now providing when we buy fuel. Those receipts will fade. Unless you make a copy or scan them into your computer, you may not be able to document some expenses in case of an audit.
There is a training video for the program. Although I downloaded the video, I have not had time to go through it. I have started to input some loads. They plan on offering a fleet version which offers most of the same features of the Elite version. I was curious as to whether any others have tried this new version and what you think about it? The last version that I got from them was the PE version. I like that version, but this one has additional features that I can use.
