Hi guys, so I have been in business since 2000 and just recently came across fmcsa portal thing. I never knew they had a portal where you can log in. so i looked up online and it says on their website that everyone must register with them.

So my question is, do i need to register for a portal? https://portal.fmcsa.dot.gov/login

I mean I have USDOT# everything is good. what is the point of this fmcsa portal? plus they charge $300 to just run the application. so before i waste that much money, is it worth it? I don't see it being necessary to register, ive operate legally with no problems.
