Welcome to trucking. Many drivers should be making more then what they do for their yrs of dedication and service to this industry but they don't.Many aren't making much more then what newbies make.Sad but that's trucking for you..If you do the math which I can see you have, trucking is one the lowest paying job their is.Alot of drivers do work for free because they feel threatened by the dispatcher and companies. But I bet companies won't do anything for free.
VaGump Thanks this. -

Decent paying gig's driving a day cab comes down to location/relocation. Until you have something better in the chute, I would not make to much noise about it. Of course this is not right but in the mean time HAVING A JOB IS BETTER THAN NO JOB AT ALL. Good Luck in your search !

I don't think it's the companies responsibility to care about your kids, spouse, rent or mortgage. They're in business to make a profit. If you don't like the pay don't work there. I'm sure they were upfront with you about making $14 an hour before you were hired, right? Shouldn't have taken the job. Not trying to be a ball buster but it sounds like you're working an entry level trucking job. With 10 years of experience you should be making a lot more than 14 an hour.

10 years OTR and he's crying because a trucking company doesn't give 2 craps about him. Go figure.
