How many fleet managers have you had since you have been here? I have been here about 4 years and am going on my 5th one. And no its not because they dont want me...LOL. I have been on the same fleet the whole time. But just when I get used to and/or like my fleet manager, all of a sudden...POOF. They just disappear. Both times it happened to a fleet manager that I liked it was right after some kind of survey that we had to do (via phone or internet). Well we are supposed to get our new fleet manager some time towards the end of the month and I am kind of nervous as I had a really bad experience with one fleet manager in the past and dont want to go through that again. Anyone heard of Rocky, or know anything about him/her? Your fleet manager can make or break you and I have been lucky on 2 out of the 5 different ones that I have.

And they say the turnover for drivers is high. Can't help you on Rocky, don't know him or her. I have a buddy that had similar problems to yours. I recommend you reach out to the new FM right away. Ask how they like to work regarding calling in regularly or only with problems, etc, and go from there.

If your miles fall drastically, get some face time with the new FM and their supervisor. No yelling, screaming, whining, just ask for the meeting. If it doesn't end the way you like, put in for a new fleet. They make changes at the end of the month so if you get into April, it will be May before you can change.

Remember, not everyone is a perfect match for everyone else. So find your match and lock in.

    Good Luck.

Good advice RR, I've been extremely satisfied with fleet 11. I've actually had a couple of calls from my FM when I was running hard asking if i wanted the CSR to bump up the schedule since I was so far ahead. Finding a good manager is ###### near as difficult as any other relationship, it has a learning curve to it. And yea in most companies the lower levels of management do switch as much, if not more than, drivers

Well, I can update this now that I have had Rocky as a fleet manager for more then a month. He seems to be pretty top notch, he answers the phone kind of in a weird way(which believe it or not I was warned about how he answers the phone, because it has been an issue with other people I guess), but after you get passed that, he really seems to care about his job. Top marks from me. On a side note, the dude who seems to answer the phone when Rocky is on his lunch break is not at all, in the least bit....top notch. He is one of those that truely does not care about his job...LOL. I have since learned not to call when Rocky is at lunch.

Glad it worked out with Rocky Wolfy. I use the same approach when my FM is on lunch...much nicer. Last week, she was on vacation...I think I made one call to ops all week.

I've had 4 they last about 5 mo each. All were great except one that lasted 1 mo.
1st- Sara F: great miles, always happy one of those people that makes you laugh in the middle of GW Bridge traffic even if you were just pulling your hair out. Talkative and will watch to bump up loads if you run hard

2nd Mondo- no quite as funny or as talkative but good miles. Seems to know alot about freight in the south eastern states and was great about setting up longer Canada runs (Alabama, Georgia, Virginia's) would change or try to bump up appt if you let him know you wanted/could del. early

3rd) Beth: miles are mediocre I think shes just getting used to the runs in the northeast. Will attempt to bo up apt. When asked BUT prefers to give hard runners D/H which is good. Probably the best at pre-plans before delivering. Not overt funny or talkative like SF but when she says funny stuff it's pretty darn good.

Inbetween 1&2 I had the other. Complete ###, arrogant, bad miles, "forgets" reimbursements, won't reimburse parking, forgets border pay..... Overall a POS that should pray every night he has a job here because he won't be able to find another of he loses this one. He lasted 27 days with me but have heard he is still around.

My experience has been good with nearly all I deal with except for the one guy that will remain nameless. I would rank the company a B+ for attitude of dispatchers compared to other companies I've worked at (driving and not driving jobs) that's pretty good considering I'm NOT easy to get along with

    Lucky

Believe it or not the fM/ team (nites/wk-ends) is pretty top notch my night guy is a wicked talker if I call in when held up at the border and the weekend lady is super nice so I'm pretty happy. Seems we just have an overall lack of freight compared even to Jan/Feb. just got the "we'll get you moving as soon as we can msg" when asked why we show up to truck at 7:30 ET when planners don't finish schedule until 8:00 CT.... I bet she didn't miss me begging for miles :)

Yeah I never knew why we had to get to the truck at 730, that is one of the ridiculous things about this company. It causes problems for me with the wife trying to get the kids to school. I dont know why we cant just call at730 and say "hey, I am ready to go" then they just call us on the "phone", and let us know when we have to get ready to go. It would make for the going back to work day alot smoother for me personally.
