I have a 2004 classic XL. I just had to replace three relatively new Interstate battery's. After replacement my battery protection system has not come back on after two hours. does anyone know how to bypass or re-set this?

Okay this is what I have found so far. Freightliner got back to me and said they think it is located under the bunk. I asked if it was in the driver side compartment where that vented cover is. They said they weren't sure but didn't think so. Well it has to be somewhere and I know it isn't in with the heater and something has to be under that vented cover. So i am headed back to my lot and taking a look at that.

The ones I've seen were on the drivers side and you can get to it through the little door or by lifting the bed. I never seen one under a cover, they usually have few indicator LED's on them so they weren't covered. The ABS ECU is usually on the passenger side under a vented cover.

It depends in the options installed on the truck but normally they are in the compartment with the sleeper fuse box, and it is a black or gray box that sometimes has an led and sometimes doesn't but it is has a big heat sink. The abs boxes are plain aluminum covered boxes, these are different, and will say something about a low voltage cutout.

One type you can't reset, it has to be disconnected and reconnected.

You said you replaced batteries. The wiring for the LVD (Low Voltage Disconnect) is in the battery box. It will be a small wire with a 10 amp fuse in it probably. I'm guessing the eyelet fell behind the battery box and did not get hooked back up.
