I use to be a regular at ganahl in anaheim. I use to haul 3 to 4 loads a day out of there to there other yards(intercompany loads as they were called). And the reciever super, name Dave in there alway's wondered why those loads came in tarped. When I was in there daily and I walk to the washroom and see these guys folding there tarps, I ALWAYS help them.

Yeah that corporate yard in Anaheim is a trip.....Went there one time and they had so much sheyat in the way......I was like hey....I'm 70' long....I need turning room.....

I had to back out of the entrance gate to Ball road one time...Their drivers all parked in the center and no room to make the turn to the outgate....

    Friggin' yard-hands had a fit.....:biggrin_25523:

I have a set of tarps that have 6' drops with flaps. I rarely use them but i heard you can get a 4' or 5' drops AND, get some 2' or 3'extentions if you need them. I've never seem them just heard about it.

I just bought a new set of 6' from A&R a couple months back....They said they had a an O/O that had 6' made up and 2' extensions....He came back and told them the extensions were always getting loose and coming off the snaps.......

What gets me is most of the tarped loads I get are sitting in rain, wind, snow, mud...In the shippers yard.....But they're concerned what a trip down the ribbon is going to do to the products.......

Most lumber is wrapped unless it's pallet stock.....
You normally don't tarp manufactured beams....and if they wanted tarps on 65' beams....The shipper can kiss my azzhat....I don't wrap OL loads......

Don't forget to check out the lightweight tarps. Easier to handle, durability I don't know to be honest.

I liked them, Cordura material. Did not stick with f/b stuff long enough to know how long they last. They do alright sitting in the garage now days though. ;)

Why dont you and bill hook up. He's looking for tarps, you have a set sitting (and probably rotting) in your garage. Put em to good use!

In my slim days I arrested a boxer all coked up that had a mouth like Mohamad Ali. It was a busy night and he was sitting in booking for 8-hours and kept saying "He is big, he is bad, he is Big Bad Bill".

    SheepDog Thanks this.

OK, bought my trailer and getting ready to order supplies. Lumber, straps and winches came with trailer. What am I missing? Is it worth getting 1/2" chain? Suggested changes? At present I am seeing about $2200 for the below not counting the box and bulkhead rack.
