When you can make $80-95k as a company driver with benifits , why would you want to buy a truck right now ?

my neighbor attended the CDL class at the community college for $1,600

got recruited by a local heavy haul company,
The heavy haul company has a 6 to 9 month training program where the trainees get paid half as much as a normal driver .

then once they are ready they get assigned their own rig ,

he earned $45 k the first year , and by year four missed cracking $100k by a couple hundred bucks

Driving a brand new W-900 L with a 72 inch stand up and home every weekend

and they’ve had breakdowns with brand new trucks .
That spent weeks waiting at the stealership for a new sensor from China or where ever they make em .

The company sells the trucks just before the warewnty expires but they still break down often enough that they keep one older rig as a spare for when the new ones are at the stealership waiting on repairs .

 

I’d have no luck at all if it wasn’t for bad luck ….
