I first applied in late July then had a phone interview, then an in person interview with three different people, a math test, a CDL test and background check. I then went to school for five weeks and got my CDL, after school I had to get a drug test and physical with their on staff Doctor. Their doctor put a Medical hold on me because of some medical issues I had five years ago. I had to supply them with some old medical records and be checked out and released by a Neurologist. The medical hold held me up about four weeks. After the Medical hold was lifted I had to go back for the ability test they then made me an offer and I start 10/27. A long process indeed.

I had my first interview yesterday (on Friday). Something that people haven't mentioned so far is that I had a 4 page test on DOT regulations. They said it was more of a training tool though and that the average is 15 questions missed out of 72. It isn't used to hire you or not hire you... The math test was simple; questions like 14+9+3+21 or 180/15.

They set up a phone interview for the following Thursday with the head honcho at that particular distribution center. I was told that the background check (previous employment and criminal/driving history) was what took the longest. Sometimes it could take 2 weeks, sometimes it could take longer. They told me if corporate was cool with the background they'd get me in for a road test, agility test and medical exam and then I'd be able to start. I was told 4 weeks max. I hope that's the case...

Yea they did my interview and road test all in one day and the only phone interview I had was about 10 minutes of asking question then offerd a face to face but my experience has been a little different so I don't know if they r just leading me on or what but with 700000+ accident and ticket free you'd think they would like that

Just to chime back in on this thread...

I had my second interview today. It was set up for yesterday but it was rescheduled for today. So far, except for that little hiccup, things are running the way they say. Regarding the long lengths of some people's experiences, it was again explained that the previous employer inquiries take the longest. I think some people that have taken months to complete the process have had lots of driving jobs for less organized companies and those companies have been difficult to get in touch with or slow to respond.

    Another update...

I got a call yesterday morning to schedule a physical, drug screen and agility test. I was free, so I did it that afternoon.

When I stopped by the office to get directions to the clinic that does the testing, I signed a conditional offer of employment. If I failed the drug test, couldn't hack the agility test or didn't pass the DOT physical, I wouldn't be hired. (That agility test... if you're used to an office or similar setting or if you've just sat in an air ride seat forever, you'll notice quickly how long it's been since you've done squats or deadlifts and you'll feel it the next day for sure. It's not bad though, almost everyone can do it.)

I got a call today and I'm set up for training in Mt. Sterling.

The whole process was a day shy of 4 weeks.

Someone asked a while back about slip seating, Yea you will slip seat for an unknown amount of time. They won't give you your own truck because a lot of guys decide its not for them once you get on your own. It took me 5 months of slip seating to get my own truck. Your also not going to get the cream of the crop truck either unless your one lucky #######. My 1st truck had 713k on it, retired at 734k, 2nd truck I got with 647k on it retired at 732k and truck I'm in now I got with 242k on it. I'll be in this one till I get my 1st brand new truck. Takes 3-4 yrs to get one. I've been a driver for a little over 2yrs
