Sorry if these seem obvious, but I just wanted some clarification on these questions asking about my CDL school I attended...
Did you perform any safety sensitive functions at this truck school, regulated by DOT, and subject to drug and alcohol testing? Yes/No
What does this mean? Safety sensitive functions regulated by DOT? I got my DOT physical and permit, pretripped and drove a truck etc, but is this asking something else specific which I dont understand?
Were you subject to the Federal Motor Carrier or Transport Canada Safety Regulations while attending this truck school? Yes/No
We obeyed laws etc... but again, is this something weird/specific its asking me that I was subjected to, or am I just being an idiot here?
Do I just say yes to both?
Few newbie questions I dont understand when filling out applications...

Yes. Everything you do pertaining to trucking somehow involves safety. And at any job you re subject to a drug test at anytime.
Yes. If you logged driving, pre trips/post trips, fueling, and took 30 minute breaks which all fall under FMCSA rules and regulations then you would of course check yes.Urziel and SouthernThunder Thank this. -

I can see why the question would be confusing to a newcomer, but I have to ask why this wouldn't be the case if you are going to truck driving school? Sounds like a redundant or trick question to me.
