Recent ads show this one will hire new cdl school grads, but doesn't show anything about felons. I'd submit an application and see what happens.

If you’re going OTR, I’d imagine you should have a lot of options. When I was looking for work, a lot of the better jobs wanted 3 months experience. You have 4 months and a good excuse for why you’re job hopping.
Have you tried the megas like JB Hunt, Schneider, Western Express, Werner, Swift, and so on? Also go on Indeed and look for anything within 50 miles of your address. Submit the application then wait to see that they viewed it or pulled your info.
Call ASAP after that and let them know you’re interested. If the felony comes up, explain it. From my understanding, they only care about violent crimes and theft. If it’s anything else just say you were dumb and wanted fast money, but you’ve since learned to work for it.Scottgreen Thanks this. -
A felony (if it involves drugs) will be a problem.

Call Mike Lowrie in Dixon, They're not doing much right now but they run hard during construction season. They also haul ag products...harvest hauling and plant to plant.

I'm going to catch some flak for my comment. Let me ask a question. What is on average the most expensive load a driver can haul? Some say electronics and others say specialty products like fancy car wheels. Based on many conversations I have had that question can be best answered by "Cosmetics"! Here is why I mentioned that. I know a fleet owner who lost an account because a driver breached a load of cosmetics and sold it on the black market not long ago. I suspect most of these products will land on places such as eBay and Amazon. Same BS that is happening in rail yards where train cars are being breached. The Federal authorities later determined it was the driver that did this. That driver is as I write this awaiting sentencing, he is going to prison for a good while now. I brought this up because this driver was a convicted felon that had a thief charge from close to 15 years prior. This fleet owner has had to take his trucks off the road now because he can't find an underwriter to insure him that he can afford. There are reasons that carriers had rather not hire felons. However, there are so many carriers that are hard up for drivers they will take a chance. This fleet owner looked me in the eye 6 months ago and told me he deeply regrets that hire. His problem was the truck was sitting not generating any money. Trucks EVEN trucks that are paid for cost their owner's money just sitting. I'm not going to say the names or the location where this BS happened. This man is attempting to sell his trucks to a larger carrier. He has lost almost everything. 4 months removed from a felony makes you radioactive to a lot of carriers, and for good reason REGARDLESS of the crime. I do wish the OP well and hope they land a job.
Chinatown Thanks this.
