New member here, I got 2/3 test done for my permit. Missing that air brakes. But I'm here cause I'm a felon on probation. When I finish my probation the felonies gone. But I'm applying for jobs now and no one will touch me, I get it. That's what felonies are for. But if you guys know how to get a CDL A for a guy that doesn't have 5,000 to spend just for tuition. Not including hotel and food.
I got 1 speeding ticket in the last 5 years and that's it on my driving record. Felonies property damage and burglary (did not steal anything, it's just how the statutes in MO word it). In short need help.

Most states have a CDL program at the community colleges or vo tech schools
in my state it’s $1,600 if you pay full price.
Most everyone gets a discount or free .
depending on the situation
If the felony was not stealing and non violent , you might want to have a copy of the paperwork to show that.
And help explain what happened.Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
Unfortunately, all the hiring decisions for felons are, "case by case" so we can't tell you who will hire you for sure. The biggies for hiring offenses are theft, drugs and sex offenses. The carrier wants to know you're not going to steal a customer's property from the trailer, get busted with dope in the truck or rape a receiving clerk.
You're going to hear a lot of no. Funny thing is you'll forget all that when you get one yes. Chinatown has given you some excellent leads. I know for a fact CRST is more forgiving than most. Years ago my FM asked me to drive with a guy who was 90 days out of an 8 year stay in San Quentin for Manslaughter. Take whatever you can to get started. Once you have some experience under your belt you'll have more and better options. -
@Lunatic Fringe is right. You have a trucking career in the bag, just a matter of getting that cdl.
Go for the WIOA Program as first choice.Last edited: Aug 27, 2021
