Anyone on here a contract O/o with fedex ground.

Looking to getting on with them somehow.

I know the basics of having a pure white tractor less than 5 yrs old, getting fuel discounts and such

Is there something called a wheel board, kinda like how they do it at LTL companies

Just trying to get some info. Thanks guys

The best way to deal with FEDEX GROUND is to find a contractor selling out. Fedex has gone thru some changes that some of the orginal contractors don't like.. so if you can find a contractor willing to sell out.. make sure he has high points for the area you are in and decent bid runs to pay for what ever the contract will sell for. Most contracts sell for a little more than the average gross for the past few years.
Of all the companies doing business with owner operaters.. Fedex makes you jump thru some hoops.. but it is still one of the best around. You get paid.. you get safety bonuses.. you also get held accountable.. which is what some of the newer contractors don't like and keeps the older contractors on the board.

Just my two cents , but if a guy was leaving a company and did not like the changes that have taken place or coming up . Not to sure I'd give him a shinny red penny for his run , cause if all was good and intact then he wouldn't be bailing out . If he is retiring and loves the company that's different, also no way I pay annual gross or AGx2 for a spot on the board for a run because they could decide that the run is no longer needed and cancel it and imnot sure what you'd have at that point . If the AG of a run was say $110,000 not to sure I'd do that , think about it that's the cost of some trucks on the road today ..

Im not bashing , just trying to be logical

Agreed.... not to mention it seems you will need a Volvo with lots of oversize fog lights, european stickers and speak russian/romanian. At least that has been my experience with all the FEG guys I have ran into in the last year or so LOL

Why would anybody buy a contract when there are so many O/O contracts available without investing all that cash ?

No idea but that's what was posted .. That they sell for annual gross or slightly more not my words . I personally would not buy a contract for any amount . Well I can't say any amount I may give a guy
$ 200.00 ( Two Hundred and 00/100 ) but 100,000 no way in the world

    0.90-0.95 plus fuel
the only elite opportunity that FEDex gives is a dedicated trip
nothing more . There fore you could be just as easy to find the same pay almost anywhere the only and I mean only thing you'd be buying is a dedicated route And I may be talking out of my rearend on that even cause I'm just going off what I've heard on the dedicated stuff

Some of the guys with older contracts who were leased on with RPS before Fedex Ground bought them out aren't making chump change + surcharge from what I understand. As far as putting a value on a lane like that the average gross over past few years is as good a way as any other to find an agreeable price. That's a part of how one figures out how to value and sell any business.
