I drove for Fed ex Ground as a team driver. I did wild and then dedicated. I would never go back to wild. There can be long wait times for an outbound load. My dedicated run was great. 5900 miles a week. 5 days. From Thanksgiving till Christmas was 6 days and 7000 miles. I took off from Christmas till the end of January each year.
Hope you get some good runs.

What contractor are you working with? I was based out of Ellenwood, Ga but the contractor was from TN. Cornerstone Trucking. Good people.

@JohnBoy I pulled wiggle wagons for 6 years and the single best piece of advice I ever got, was when pulling into a rest area, truck stop, company yard etc., always leave yourself an out. I pulled into the wrong driveway at a little ole Estes terminal in Oregon and was met with concrete barricades, and had to break the set, back out onto the street and build the set together. Luckily for me it was snowing sideways and the wind chill was about -457. Other than that, don’t look in the mirrors and you’ll love pulling a set. I always thought the ride was smoother. One more tip when you’re doin your walk around and building air, I’d always crack the red line air supply on the back pup just to make sure air was circulating thru everything. Best of luck, looking forward to any and all updates!

Day two in the books. Rode with a local driver from 1pm to 9:30. Got a great education on entering a very busy hub (Memphis). For the most part it’s pretty simple, busy but simple. Not sure what’s in store tomorrow. I’ll call in to find out. Based on what I experienced today, what I’ve been told by people, I’m quite sure I can head out tomorrow and do this job. I have great people behind me who are willing to help, so I’m confident I can head out and do this. I’ll know tomorrow morning when I call in.

One very good piece of advice, when you’re in some of the hubs walking you’ll learn to have a set of eyes in the back of your head!
Between the hostlers and some of the steering wheel holding race car drivers they employ, yeah just have a set of eyes in the back of your head LOL
