So new to over the road ops. Have been running local for quite a few years. Looking to see what I should be asking for rates on power only. I don’t want to be cutting my own throat. I don’t want to be undercutting anyone else. I don’t want to be passed by for being to far fetched and asking to much. Any current drivers out there willing to share ???

Bold statement asking such a question.

That would really depend on what your pulling and where it's going

You'll have to get out there and see what you can get. Too many variables to accurately answer your question. Frankly, not having a trailer is going to limit you and whoever contracts you will most likely take full advantage of that situation.

how much does it cost to run YOUR truck?
once that’s answered, then you can determine your window for rates,
this is something you need to have on paper right from the start, you can break it down by mile which simplifies it.
And never worry about undercutting anyone … never.shooter19802003 and Keepforgettingmypassword Thank this. -
And where. P a fuel is almost 4.50 a gallon

With power only, regardless of distance, I'd expect $1000 a day, maybe $650 - $800 for some shags but not much less...I am guessing.
goga Thanks this.
