Love mine. All good luck no problems mine e on a series 60 12.7 liter advice carry extra filters for the fass most truck stop don't
truckerbangin Thanks this. -
I have one on my old C model mechanical Cat. More consistant fuel pressure than just my transfer pump. My fuel pressure would drop and act screwy when I run tanks below a quarter. I think it was a matter of aeration of the fuel from sloshing etc. I have a switch on it and actually left it off one night. Truck still ran ok as long as I didn't really mash on it. Good to know because I always wondered if I would be stranded until I bypassed it if it ever quit me. The FASS also has good filtration setup on it. Filters are a little harder to find than stock but I have that all figured out now and just carry spares in case. Also, makes changing fuel filters a breeze. just turn pump on and bleed filter as you snug it up. Put a rag around top of filter when doing this or you will get a diesel shower. I have switch under hood just for filling filters. Any big mpg or power gains? Probably not. Hard to say for me. Maybe a touch better mpg. I am always heavy or empty. 4.3 -6.5. When loaded I am usually heading into the wind and in the left lane.
Does seem to idle smoother and with consistent fuel pressure it takes one variable out of the equation for efficiency and performance.Oxbow, I glide 47 and truckerbangin Thank this. -
I gained a little more mpg and more power not earth shattering maybe 1 or 2 tenths little more pep in your step. When I traded trucks .new fass system before the first load .
Oxbow Thanks this. -
I have a Fass on a N14. I couldn't testify about any changes in fuel mileage. I installed the Fass the same time I changed the injectors. The motor sounded like a complete different motor. Also installed an Oil spinner.
I just figure the extra filtration can't hurt. I'm sure it helps some.
Do carry extra filters. One of the filters used in the FASS is the same as the original Cummins system. The other filter I carry 2. Just in case.Oxbow Thanks this.
