Hello everyone I have a 2005 12.7 century Detroit 60 and recently I am experiencing a wierd problem with my truck and have no clue what it might be ? So basically the fan of the truck is going on when temperature is below 175 f , even when I'm driving empty and outside is cold weather ? Parts been replaced on the truck : fan clutch , coolant tank + temp sensor , solenoid , temp gage at dashboard . The fan goes on and off for no reason mostly when the truck is in motion and temp gage arrow is goind crazy up & down ?? I will appreciate any advice or help . Thank you in advance : Here is a video.

Check the plug on the temp sensor all of them and look for the terminal that is spread

Your Truck may have a power distribution module that controls the fan. My 2000 does. It’s located in the fuse panel. Small box with the letters pdmi printed on it.

Your fan is also controlled by your HVAC system. Perhaps one of the pressure sensors on it is telling your ECM to turn on the fan.

CEL going on and off. Did you pull the blink codes? Are you hearing the fan kicking on and off? Or is there a light on dash when fans on? I can’t hear it kicking on in the video. That’s got to be a loose connection somewhere, causing the gauge to do that. Temp sensor should be on right (passenger) side, on the head. near the back of engine. Between the valve cover and exhaust manifold.
