Well I got an interview at 4 today with this company. They seem to spew a good sales pitch so I'll post how my minds eye sees things later.
-
Welp....Here it goes
Starting pay is around 39k a year with 100.00 monthly safety bonus. It a -
they have good insurance as well. You end up with 150.00 a day making 3 runs 65 miles one way. They have new freightliners, some manual and some auto. depending on what the load is depends on what it pays. 12hr shifts averaging a 5 day 60hr week. Safety seems to be a priority so if you mess up and roll one, accidents, etc then they terminate you. In the end they don't seem like a bad company however the pay don't seem right to me. They also pay detention pay after 2hrs and break down pay at time of breakdown. Any thoughts?

It's by the load. It ends up being 50.00 a load and after the first year they give you a raise. I believe I can do the loads in 50 hrs a week
-
I should gross 750 weekly on this particular run. They also have different runs that pay will depend on destination
-
So you're driving around 400/mi a day at about .38/mi. Those are kinda short hauls for that rate but for a five day week with a couple days off, home everyday and decent insurance benefits might be worth it to you to stick it out for awhile.
I'm not too far from you and most guys hauling local or pulling cans out of the port that I've talked to pay around that here. I personally couldn't or wouldn't do it for that money, but home everyday isn't a big deal for me. -
Yeah they start you on a night shift at first with no telling how long until a daytime position will open. Running all night like that don't fit too well at this time however today the terminal manager informed me that a new plant will be open after the first of the year in Faison pulling hopper bottoms to the port in Wilmington so I may just wait on that. Supposedly they are hiring 15 drivers and day shifts will be available
