I know. The poster to whom I responded wrote "yes they do" responding to someone who said "Kansas doesn't take EZPASS." I know that PrePass has a transponder that works there, but it is not Ezpass.

Back on my dedicated account days (oh, a whopping 5 months ago), all the ICs on our account had to get the KTag to get through Kansas. The blue transponders we have in the truck DON'T work on the Kansas Turnpike, nor will Schneider pay for it, anyway. KTag is cheaper than paying at the toll booths. If you roll through the KTag only line without a KTag, you will be photographed, Schneider sent the bill, and it will ultimately be taken out of one of your statements.

Ok, maybe a stupid question here. I've only been through a couple of tolls. My blue EZPASS box has never beeped or lit up. It does beep and light up for weigh stations. I thought it just didn't do anything for tolls. Am I wrong? This was well over a month ago. I haven't seen any money charged to me on my statements and no one has ever said anything to me about running a toll.

Pre pass plus does not light up or beep for tolls. When going through a toll gate, the gate raises and or you get a green light at the gate (not your unit).

I think that may be the issue then. I just went through the left lanes with no toll gate. I may have hit the gate when exiting. I can't remember if I just went the whole way through or not. I think it was a part of I70 going Indiana to Chicago? It was my first and only time up there. And only toll route I've gone so far. Should I have gone the outside route of going through the gates instead?

No. In Chicago run the ezpass only lanes which is the left lanes. No lights or buzzers, do not stop.

in chicago on exit you'll see a blue dome light flash. always use express lanes or ezpass only when possible

Just a little update on mine, turns out the box battery wasn't dead. Apparently I had forgotten to assign the box to my truck with prepass, so the bypass system got turned off. All is good now.

Went to Niagara Falls over the weekend

On the way home on 90 w/b, went through the plaza outside of Buffalo, green light EZPass ok
Got off in Irving (Indian reservation) to get fuel, green light EZPass ok
Re-entered tollway, yellow light Call EZPass
PA state line plaza, green light EZPass ok

I was in a rental car with the license plate not associated with my pass, I wonder how they're going to handle it since it didn't read on entry but did on exit.
