Extended warranty cost for a 2019 Freightliner?

Unless you’re buying from a Freightliner dealer and it’s some kind of warranty offered direct from Daimler I wouldn’t spend money on a warranty. The third party warrantied don’t cover much at all. About all you can do is research warranties and see what is and isn’t covered and decide if you want to spend money on it or not. But in general a third party warranty doesn’t really cover the big stuff that would help you out on an older truck. They wouldn’t make much money selling a warranty on a half million mile truck and then having to pay to fix the stuff that goes wrong on a half million mile truck.

Around $3300 for 1 year/125K
Around $5600 for 2 year/25K
If purchased before the 500K expires, cost more later.
Either one may have to have the DPF replaced, around $2300

 

I see it the same way. Aftermarket warranty seems to act more like an insurance policy than a warranty.

 

Detroit Next is not at all like insurance.

 

Because its an OEM warranty, not an aftermarket warranty.

 

Can buy it direct from Detroit or through a FL dealer. If the truck doesn't have the 500K warranty then everything that would be covered under it has to be fixed and paid for.

 

Bought the 125K on 4 trucks because the new ones i ordered couldn't be built in time.
